Fox Searchlight has released the first trailer for its Winnie The Pooh origin story, titled "Goodbye Christopher Robin", which is slated to debut in cinemas this fall.
The film, directed by Simon Curtis, gives audiences a rare glimpse into the relationship between beloved children's author A. A. Milne (played by Domhnall Gleeson) and his son Christopher Robin (Will Tillson), whose toys inspired the magical world of Winnie the Pooh.
Set in England in the early 1900s - and also starring Margot Robbie as Milne's wife Daphne and Kelly Macdonald as Christopher Robin's nanny Olive - the feature portrays how Milne came up with the inspiration for Winnie the Pooh, and how the story brought hope and comfort to both Milne and a battered England after the war.
Fox Searchlight will release "Goodbye Christopher Robin" in select theatres starting October 13 (via Deadline).
