Cody Simpson Opens Up About His 'Project' With Justin Bieber That 'Never Got To See The Light Of Day'

A mysterious musical collaboration between Justin Bieber and Cody Simpson exists in this universe. Sadly, it's not available for public consumption -- yet.

In a Thursday conversation with HuffPost Live's Caitlyn Becker, Simpson revealed that he and the Biebs "actually worked on an entire project together last year that unfortunately never got to see the light of day."

"We both wanted to go our own musical directions and musical paths," Simpson said, explaining their reasoning for locking up what MTV reports is a whole album of duets. "Obviously we've been friends for a while and he's a good guy for sure, [and] we got to put out something cool [the 2014 single 'Home To Mama'] and we got a really great response online and stuff."

But fans should fear not. The sweet vocals of Bieber harmonizing with Simpson will someday surface, according to the "Thotful" crooner.

The duo "wanted to save something like that for a time in the future where it'll be cooler to do it together, when we're both in such different positions that it's like more interesting to come together," Simpson affirmed. "It was a mutual decision."
