If you want to watch HBO Now, HBO's long-awaited standalone streaming service, you're going to need an Apple device.
HBO and Apple said that Apple will be the exclusive launch partner for HBO Now, HBO's CEO Richard Plepler said at Apple's event on Monday. This will be the first time that HBO will be available without a cable or satellite subscription.
"All you need to get HBO Now is a broadband connection and an Apple device," Richard Plepler, HBO's CEO, said on stage at the San Francisco event.
The service will cost $14.99 per month when it launches next month. Apple TV will have a new channel for HBO Now once it launches.
Apple also said that it's lowering the price of Apple TV from $99 to $69.
