Quentin Tarantino's
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is already getting
an additional 20 minutes of new footage for its home release, but an even longer cut of the movie might be coming on the horizon.During an FYC screening in Los Angeles, Tarantino, along with stars Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio, answered some questions regarding whether or not a longer version of the film existed. Tarantino recounted showing the entire thing to Sony's Tom Rothman (per
Collider).
“It’s all good, it’s all great," Tarantino said. "I don’t know if an audience would sit for it, but I love it. So we showed it to Tom Rothman and it was like, ‘OK, here this all is. We know that this is a movie, but maybe you can help us out because we like everything.'”
"The real question is," Pitt asked, of the full four-hour cut, "are we going to get to see this one way or another?”
“Hey look," Tarantino answered, "it’s all good so once this whole thing is said and done, maybe in a year’s time, we probably will.”
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood has been nominated for several Golden Globe awards, including Best Picture (Musical or Comedy) and Best Director. It was also a contributor to our Most Epic Movie Moments of 2019.
