Chanel's octogenarian designer Karl Lagerfeld has died at 85, who has designed for the house since 1983, according to numerous reports from Europe.
Lagerfeld had looked increasingly frail in recent years. In January, he did not come out to take a bow at the house's couture show in Paris.
The luxury fashion house said he abstained from coming out to receive applause because he was tired. It was the first time in recent memory he had not come out to take a bow.
