Kate Winslet has a love affair with city of Vancouver and its food, and she’s not the only A-lister to feel that way about the city.
The Academy, Emmy, and Grammy award-winner was pictured at Maenam, a Vancouver Thai restaurant, with one of its owners, Kate Auewattanakorn, on Friday. The photo, posted to the restaurant’s Instagram page, is a recreation of a similar photo the restaurant posted a year ago.
Last month, Winslet posed for a photo with a shirt that touted “Honey’s Doughnuts,” a doughnut shop in Metro Vancouver.
In the photo, Winslet is wearing a shirt that reads "Keep calm and eat a Honey's doughnut."
In September, Winslet raved about the city while at a screening for “The Mountain Between Us” in Toronto.
"I love Vancouver. I was so happy to be there, and so sad to leave," she said at the time. “We left thinking: 'Why are we honestly leaving?' I mean it is so amazing."
Winslet also told reporters she “pines” for Honey’s Doughnuts.
The “Titanic” star isn’t the only celebrity to have a place in their heart for the city.
In August, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson posted a video on Instagram where he said Vancouver was one of his favourite cities in the world.
“I’ve just got to show you guys this view, it’s spectacular,” he said in the post as he points the camera off a balcony.
Vancouver was where the Rock’s took part in his first professional football game as a member of the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL.
In February, Neil Patrick Harris tweeted that he was looking for a “sweet penthouse” in the city. By April, Harris said he had found a place and “loving my new digs.”
In June, Vancouver-native Ryan Reynolds posted that it was “Good to be back” in Vancouver.
Kelly Ripa, co-host of LIVE with Kelly and Ryan, brought up her love of the city at least twice in the past year on her show. She travels to the city often as her husband, Mark Consuelos, plays Hiram Lodge on Riverdale.
Not everyone is so fond of the city, however. During an appearance on Ripa’s show in October, Riverdale star KJ Apa said: “The city is not the biggest in the world. Everything kind of shuts early as well."
Apa did go on to say “the food is good.”
