Rush is planning the release of a new and expanded edition of "A Farewell to Kings" in honor of the landmark album's 40th anniversary.
The fifth studio album by the Canadian progressive rock band was released in 1977 and includes the radio hit "Closer to the Heart" as well as "A Farewell To Kings," "Madrigal" and "Cinderella Man."
The 40th anniversary release will be available in four editions: a three-CD collection, a four-LP collection, a deluxe digital edition and a Super Deluxe edition that will includes both the CDs and the LPs.
In addition to a remastered version of the album, the anniversary editions will include a complete Rush concert recorded in 1978 at London's Hammersmith Odeon that features more than 30 minutes of unreleased performances.
Also included will be four covers of songs from the original album by Dream Theater, Big Wreck, The Trews and Alain Johannes, as well as an instrumental studio outtake of sound effects for "Cygnus X-2."
"A Farewell to Kings - 40th Anniversary" will be available on Dec. 1.
