TORONTO -- A Toronto International Film Festival party intended to salute Miami's film community has been cancelled out of respect for Florida residents likely to be affected by hurricane Irma.

The group says the decision was made over recognition the party would take place during the "exact hours" when the hurricane is expected to directly hit Miami.
