Dorothy's dress from 'The Wizard of Oz' auctioned for $1.3 mn

Washington, Nov 24 (IANS) Dorothy's iconic blue and white gingham dress from the 1939 classic "The Wizard of Oz", was auctioned for $1.3 million in New York, the media reported on Tuesday. The final bid on Monday surpassed the estimated price of around $1.06 million for the dress the late actress Judy Garland wore along the Yellow Brick Road to Oz, EFE news reported. The dress was one of the dozen objects from the movie auctioned by Bonhams among a total of 400 memorabilia from Hollywood's golden era.
