3 Reasons You Should Be Listening to The Wind and The Wave Right Now

I was lucky enough to catch The Wind and The Wave's set at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City on April 7th. I've been listening to their music on loop since and I think you should be, too.

The band is Dwight Baker and Patricia Lynn and is based out of Austin, Texas. Their website describes their music as music that "encompasses everything from indie-folk, to alternative, to blues-rock to Southern psychedelia." I know the Internet runs on listicles, so I jammed my new-fan glee into three solid reasons why you should be listening to the Wind and The Wave right now:

1. They write songs like "It's a Longer Road to California Than I Thought"

It's off their 2014 debut album From the Wreckage.

2. Their covers are delightful.

In addition to their original music they have an awesome new covers album out including the gems "Ignition (Remix)" and "Chandelier." They sang both during their set at Rockwood and were both equally delicious. Luckily the album is called Covers One so here's hoping they keep releasing albums to at least Covers Five Hundred.

3. They are fantastic live.

It's true. You must hear lead singer Patricia Lynn's voice. Their hour-long set at Rockwood had the crowd enthralled and begging for more. I highly suggest going to see them before the inevitable bigger-venues-therefore-less-fun gigs start to happen.
