Get on the bag, Ferrell!
Comedian, actor and former Saturday Night Live player Will Ferrell will be appearing in a number of games Thursday as part of the Cactus League's Spring Training, according to USA Today Sports' Bob Nightengale. What's more, Ferrell will reportedly take a turn in all nine positions.
The Cactus League is the Arizona-based spring training league for half of the MLB's clubs.
Ferrell is apparently working with both the MLB and HBO for the gig, which will be filmed as part of a cancer awareness special, Comcast Sportsnet Chicago reported.
Probably for the best that Ferrell will take the field rather than the stands. Fans may remember his take on a overzealous baseball parent from his SNL days.
Requests for comment from HBO and the Cactus League have not yet been returned.
