ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Investigators say they found human remains inside a wood stove in the home of a man charged with killing a finalist from the TV show "Food Network Star," her husband and their unborn child.
Buncombe County Sheriff Van Duncan said at a news conference Friday that deputies think 38-year-old Cristie Schoen Codd and 45-year-old Joseph Codd were dead for three days before officers were called to their home Sunday. Search warrants say on the same day, 36-year-old Robert Owens threw away a trash bag with one victim's belongings.
Duncan wouldn't talk about a motive for the killing. Warrants show deputies took 11 knives and a saw blade from Owens' home.
Cristie Codd was a movie-set caterer and past finalist on "Food Network Star."
Owens' lawyer hasn't responded to telephone messages seeking comment. Read More http://ift.tt/1Be0WzS
