When Treeva Gibson chose her coach on "The Voice," she revealed her decision to her parents in a very special way: using sign language.
The 16-year-old from Frederick, Md., grabbed the attention of both Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera with her cover of Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful.” After her audition, she explained that both of her parents are deaf. According to NBC Washington, the teen has minor hearing loss herself.
Still, Treeva was able to figure out her voice along the way, leading her to a successful audition where she was faced with choosing a coach. She went with Team Christina, but announced her decision using sign language so her parents, who were watching backstage, would know.
The blind auditions have just started, but Treeva's sweet gesture makes hers one of the most memorable ones this season.
"The Voice" airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST.

So happy. So many tears. Good tears. I couldn't thank everyone watching, everyone supporting me, and @NBCTheVoice for giving me a chance
