Melissa McCarthy and Paul Feig are shaping up to become the decade's most coveted comedy duo. He directed her to an Oscar nomination for "Bridesmaids," in 2011, and then again opposite Sandra Bullock in 2013's "The Heat." In May, McCarthy will topline the first movie Feig has written since 2003's "I Am David."
Called "Spy," McCarthy plays an uncelebrated CIA analyst who volunteers to go undercover to find a deadly arms dealer, and she's surrounded by an ensemble that includes Rose Byrne, Jude Law, Jason Statham, Allison Janney, Bobby Cannavale and 50 Cent. "Spy" hits theaters May 22, within the same month as other highly anticipated big-screen comedies: "Pitch Perfect 2," Cameron Crowe's still-untitled rom-com, and Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara's police office/prisoner buddy romp.
